Cats vs. Dogs

We got this really cute mailer from the Veterinarian last week... and Caitlin and Will were carrying it around "Ooo-ing and Aw-ing" over the many pictures of cats and dogs...

They were so cute... sitting there side by side, flipping through the pages... and just when i thought... "Aw, how cute, they are getting along so well..." they'd get into the eternal battle of
"Cats are better!" "Noooooooo, Dogs are better..."

Hours later... the fun continued...
"Cats"
"Dogs..."
"Cats"
"Dogs..."
"CATS...."
SO, i suggested to them "Let's cut the pictures out and make posters!!" It was a fun cut and paste project...

a few things...

Sunday, we found this... a FROZEN A/C whatever it's called... While we were at church we turned it off so it could melt...etc..etc... (we were lucky it wasn't too hot that day.. only lower 80's)
when we came home the heat put Brinley to sleep. (she's so cute... looks like one of those cute little porclin dolls my Grandma used to paint and dress up...) Luckily, we were invited over to a friends house for dinner that night... so we didn't have to deal with the heat too long!

This weeks unpack and get settled project... I hung some posters in the kids play room... (i got the poster frames at IKEA-about a year ago! Makes this room look fun and friendly!)

Caitlin and Baby Will...

Visit from Ewee, Micah, and Isaac!

My sister Emily and her two little ones came to visit us last week... we had such a great time! Here are a few pictures from their visit...

Brinley (who's now walking since the last time we saw these guys...) was able to keep up with her cousin Isaac! They LOVE each other... and i couldn't get enough of watching these two talk and play ... (at the end of this post, there is the MOST adorable video of these two!)



We spent one morning at the Pool before lunch...

Another day we painted and Caitlin was SO excited to show Micah how to paint letters!

Our neighbors down the street were making a 'good will' run... but decided to see if we wanted any of their used goods... a Turtle sand box (heck yes!)

and this cute waiting pool were among the 'goods'... also 2 winter coats and shorts and pants for Will! The kids were thrilled!

We decided to give them a try! So refreshing!

One of the highlights for me this week was when Emily taught me how to make jam!! This was so fun...we made these cute little 8 ounce jars...

I found some Strawberries for a good deal at Sams Club and Emily brought some frozen Black berries that she picked off of Mom and Dad's bush... these are the Jams we made.
