Grammy and Papa came to visit last week.
We had such a good time visiting and playing... making crafts and treats... reading books.
First on our list was a TOUR of the Henrico Fire Station!
My friend Angela from church got a group together so our kids could check out the fire station...
We had a GREAT time... (Thanks Grammy and Papa for letting me borrow your camera, and to Grammy for watching Baby Brinners!)

Papa and Will (Will's award winning mother forgot his sweater...)

Ambulance
Garage: (those yellow tubie things hanging to the right are for exhaust... they hook that up to the exhaust pipe on the trucks... and then start the engine and the tubie takes care of the exhaust... they can pull out of the garage... and the tube will slide on a track... and release all by it's self! Smart thinkin' those fire men....

Jared, Will, Ethan and Joey

I let will borrow my jacket... everyone called him Eskimo!

Fire man GPS on crack...

He put on all of his fire man gear... (I think Will wanted to hold his helmet... and was a little sad...)
They turned on the fire truck lights and sounded the sirens on the Ambulance!
And While i'm on the subject of fire... I'm reminded when the Scouts came over to our house at the beginning of June to inspect our house for Fire Safety... (as part of an Eagle project!) They left us with this awesome check list... and Justin put them to work- having them install smoke alarms in the bedrooms... (something we'd been meaning to do, anyway!)

It's good to go over these things a few times a year with your family members, roommates etc... (Family Home Evening is a good time for it, you can even call your local fire department and get a tour just like we did!) because you never know when a fire will start...and like the Boy Scouts always say... BE PREPARED!
