Take last week for instance... Justin and I were in our basement rearranging our craft and office spaces... we had been down there for a few hours... when i thought... i should go check the kids... make sure every thing is alright...
When i opened their bedroom door... Caitlin was sleeping peacefully. (Yes! One positive thing about her refusing to take naps during the day... she's out as soon as her head hits the pillow!!)... Then i looked in Will's direction... and see that his pillow, blankets, pj's AND DIAPER are all laying on the floor next to his crib. AND inside... a naked-sleeping-version of our son snuggled into the corner of his crib... with pee, pretty much all over the place. Whoopy! Another fun parenting experience! I can honestly say... that I laughed; I thought it was so funny! Hooray for plastic liners on toddler beds!
After 3 or 4 nights in a row of Will doing this, it stopped being funny... That's when i called for reinforcement! Something that would put this 2 year old in his place... teach him the ropes... lay down the law...yeah that's right... Duct Tape! We didn't do anything too extream... but it works it keeps the diaper on, or at least now, he really has to work at it to get it off...and he has! Don't ask me how!! (and as I'm typing this... I looked out he window, just now... and there goes Will with no diaper, and sand all over his butt! Perfect!
OK, I'm back... what a job... i hope they pay me overtime for this one... I can't believe it... i actually had to use the duct tape during the day.. first time... this is serious!)
ANYWAY! This picture was taken last night... He was so excited for this new routine... and cool stylish belt!! He was actually modeling for the camera! Wow, that says a lot... usually i only get the back of his head as he's running away.

I got pictures of another time when the kids didn't go to sleep when they were supposed to... I laughed at this as well... Justin not so much... Will shredded a book that Justin brought back form Portugal... Sad... but i said... "Now you really have to take me there, so we can replace that book!" that made him smile!!

Caitlin took all her bedding, books, stuffed animals and put them in Will's crib and then climbed in... all by herself... i think she used the stuffed Elephant on the ground as a 'stepping stool'! This is how i found them....jpg)

Okay, so I know I'm an insider making my reply different than that of someone living outside the same 4 walls, but GREAT post, Honey! It truly captured one of the major realities of the joyful parenting in the Cracroft home.

I can't get over the duck tape photos. Will is so funny. I can't imagine sand on a naked butt feels good. You'd think that would have been enough to keep a diaper on.
Little Caitlin snuggled up in Will's crib is so tender. It cracks me up that Will is wide away. Are the kids ever asleep at the same time? I am having a heck of a time with my two sharing a room. I'll have to call you for some tips.
