...the party hasn't started until a parent has to jump in the pool
- fully dressed-
in order to save their child, who should have been listening in the first place when she had explained the part about staying in the one foot deep shallow end...
Well, check that one off the list!

Based on your labels, I'm guessing it was Will? And you're right, one hasn't lived until one has to save the life of their child!
In my experience, as a "make daddy jump into an 8ft. pool to save me " person, I think we grow up to be party animals....
Wow, what a mom!! And how scary for you. Glad he is ok...
And on a lighter note, pictures?? :)
I have a similar story. Except it was the duck pond. Ick.
Mary, that is so grose it made me laugh out loud! I'm sorry about that!
I forgot to tell you that this was Justin's Work party... yeah. "Hey Cracroft, i didn't know your wife could fly..."
It was crazy how it happened all so fast... infact, Justin missed the whole thing!
Well to begin with, we forgot the kids swim suits... but what kid can stay out of the water? Caitlin was in within 3 minutes of showing up. First they stick their feet in... then it's up to the knees... and wham... they are swimming around.
Will was actually just walking around in the shallow end... this pool had a 12 inch shallowend... and then a drop off... I was trying to get his attention as he was walkig streight for the edge... and the 'life guard' was off in la la land... so as he took that 'step'... i shot right into the pool...
Really it happened so fast... the life guard was like...
"Wow, you were so fast i thought you came flying down the slide!" (ah-durr. it was my kid... of course i wasn't going to be like... um excuse me... my child needs your help.)
Anyway, I was wearing a black shirt and light blue capris... guess i was so wet i didn't even look wet because just looked at me and said... how did you get your hair wet?? then he looked closer and saw that i was compleatly WET!
yeah, i'm glad he's okay too! I didn't think to get any pictures. But after we all had a good laugh...
Way to go Super Mom!
What an impressive move, especially at a work party. Aren't you glad you learned how to swim?
I'm glad I read the comments so I could get the full story! Holy cow Amanda. How terrifying! Glad you are so quick.
At least you can laugh about it now. Hope things are going well.
you are my hero.
