Same Bathroom, New Look!

Oo, La La... This was an exciting project... Justin and I were happy to see the pink tile go. As always, one little project suddenly turns into something bigger... more time and... 'Oo, we should get new lights..." and "lets rip this out" etc. etc. So here's a few pictures of our last week... and our newly transformed bathroom...

BEFORE:
Another high five to my handy house man, J-dawg Justin... He worked really hard to get it to the point that we are not embarrassed anymore to have people use our bathroom... :) It's just nice to update things every... you know... 30 years. Nice thing for us is that the shower was re-done like a year before we moved in. So, other than the vanity... which works (for now) everything's pretty new! :)
More awesome pink tile.
Justin saved one if the tiles, probably to show people...hehe... I might frame it and hang it somewhere in our house... just for fun.
After the tile came off... hours of scraping 30 year old glue followed this picture.
Wow, bye bye glue.
This was one messy bathroom after that scrape down. In the voice of Ernest P. Wheral-- "EEeeeeewwwwwah" Anyone?? OK, maybe that's a joke only my Dad will get...
By the look on Justin's face (below)... you'd never guess that this was one of his favorite projects we've done in the house. Probably because he did the whole thing by himself, and it only took a few days. I told him to do whatever he wanted, this was his 'baby'! He picked the color, and the new lights and towel racks all by himself, and kept it "Extreme Home Makeover" secret-like from me till it was all finished! It was so fun!
All smooth and primed, ready to paint!

AFTER:
TA-DA! I'd have to say, I'm impressed! To some it may seam a little drastic from the light pink... but I LOVE IT! Esp. coming from the hallway with the dark wood in the hallway... and it goes well with the other colors in our house. Pictures never tell it like it is in person and neither do the little paint cards at Home De Pot. It's like a brown... with a hint of olive green... it's really cool. We'll need to 'dress' it up a little with some art. That will be fun. OH, I'm so happy it's not PINK anymore! Whoopy!

Weekend Update!

OK, so weekends are way to busy to blog anything, so here's a fun recap of how it all went down! :)

Blanket-Restoration!
Caitlin's 'KeKe' was in serious need of some tender love'n care... the original silky fabric was completely shredded, umm "Loved"... so we took it off, and went to the fabric store (umm... like three weeks ago... and Caitlin's been lugging around two pieces of fabric since then. Yeah... Bad Mom Award, I know... but not anymore...

I don't have a picture of the finished product... but you get the idea... those two pieces are now together... to make one snugglie ball of blankie goodness! Love it!

Bathroom- Renovation!
Whoopy! I no longer have a PINK bathroom... Justin's been working so hard to scrape off the O-So-Dated plastic tiles... it's made a WORLD of a difference. It's almost ready to paint. (before and after pictures coming soon!!! :) here's a glimpse of what it used to look like... jealous?

Opening Night of Twilight!
Hehehee. This was a lot of fun! Some girlfriends and I went to see the 12:30 am showing of Twilight! I had the best night, didn't get to bed till after 4.... Ahh, but it was worth it!
The night started out with dinner at California Pizza Kitchen! Yeah! Then we hung out for 2 hours and played Twilight Trivia games and ate goodies, like chocolate covered strawberries (yum!) AND we made Twilight buttons! What a BLAST! Here's a picture of Me and Lindsey with our buttons... (Lindsey, I'm so glad you were able to come with me!! I had a lot of fun with you!!)
Wow. That's an orange wall!
Twilight. Oooo, Say it again! TWILIGHT!!!
Here is Lindsey right before the show started!!! AHHHHHHHH!!
Me buddy Rachel and me... "Start the movie already!!!!"
The movie was AMAZING! I loved every minute. The actors were PERFECT! Every single one!! Bella, Edward... Esme, Charlile :), Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Mike (HA!) Jacob, Charlie, I even loved Jasper... he was hilarious! Everyone was awesome.
I've decided that the Utah fan base is AWESOME! My Favorite part was hearing the reaction from the audience, when the movie started and whenever a new character would appear for the first time, everyone would scream and applaud. It was SO MUCH FUN!
I did find myself wishing that it would have been longer, or that they would have a few more of my favorite scenes from the book...but it was already 2 hours long... but it went SO fast...
I'm so glad it did well opening weekend, $70+ Million... and I'm so beyond EXCITED that they are going ahead with NEW MOON!!! AHHHHH!
WHAT A FUN NIGHT! I can't wait to see it again... I'm going to take Justin to go see it... and yes, he actually wants to see it! :)
Big Boy Bed!
Will, my part monkey child, climbed out of his crib on Thursday... That's a strange moment for a parent. All of a sudden you hear little foot steps and then you look up to see your child standing right in front of you with a HUGE smile on his face... like "TA-DAaaa!" Now I'm thinking... "Wait, didn't i just put you in your bed? Or am I loosing my mind?"
Yeah, So down came the gate. Will Loves his 'new' bed... and the freedoms that come with it! Also, say goodbye to nap time... :(
Chew Chew, Ya Bubble Gum!
Oh, me of little patience... Caitlin has a new hair do because she got gum stuck in her hair this weekend. I've been trying to grow those silly bangs out because they are always in her face... gur, now we'll have to wait even longer. (PS. we only had to cut her bangs, they were past her chin... the rest of her hair is tied back in this picture!)

PA trip: High Light #1

YEA! Thanks to Veterans Day and Justin working at a bank... we were able to have a fun day getting things done around the house on Tuesday while Caitlin was at Preschool! And that includes transferring all my PA Trip pictures to the computer!! Yippy.

Dude, and A BIG HIGH FIVE to Justin for passing his test on Saturday!! YEA! That much closer to an MBA!! Way to go honey, You deserved to have a fun day off to spend with me, cleaning the yard and doing my 'honey-do-list' and then to top it all off spending a fun afternoon at the Zoo with the kids...

PA Trip: I thougth I'd start with a visit from one of my favorite buddies from High School, Chrissy! Mom called her to see if she would come take some pictures of the grand kids for her... and we had a fun morning visiting... Ahh. I loved visiting with you Chrissy!! And thanks for putting up with all the crying children!!

Here's Me and Chrissy
Chrissy and Caitlin: instant buddies!!

CUTE!

Here are a few shots of the kids:
Silly Faces
Yeah, that's a foot... don't ask
ONLY way to get Will to stop crying was to give him this...
First Group shot of the Adams' grand kids... lets say it didn't go as well as we hoped... (it was pretty funny!)
Caitlin, Enoch, Will
Ada, Micah
Poor Ada, she was so sleepy... Will... he was just plain mad.
I can't help but LAUGH at this picture...
HA!
We tried playing Duck, Duck, Goose... and that got the kids in a better mood... Ada fell asleep in Amy's arms... so we decided to get the kids running since they were running away from us anyway... these are GREAT pictures...
The next few pictures all happened right after each other... and yes... look a Will...(this is great!)

Awesome Huh?
Ohh, but we didn't stop there... to top it off... Chrissy captured this picture:

What cute kids, even when they are crying... and not posed the way we want them!

Term of Endearment...

(I over heard this cute little interaction between Will and Caitlin this morning... it made me smile!)

"Daddy!"

"No, Will, I not Daddy, I Caklin!"

Note: If Will calls you 'Daddy'...you should feel special!

PS... our phone line/Internet has been out since Thursday morning... sorry if you tried getting ahold of us, or wondered where my posts had been...i usually don't blog on the weekends anyway. :)

Baby, It's Cold Outside...

Yee-Hawww!
Yea the rain turned to SNOW! OH, I couldn't keep the kids out of the snow today, they were SO excited!! We missed the first official snow when we were in PA... so this was fun to watch them play in the snow... here are a few pictures of the 15 minutes of fun!
Note to self: Self, buy Will a ski jacket and some snow boots...
Cheese
He was happy to be out there...
he just smiles for 1/2 a milla second and I can never catch it
This is a cute pic of the two,
as you can see, Will has Caitlin's Crocks on...
I guess he thinks since Caitlin's snow boots are pink...
he needs to wear pink shoes...
Pink does not keep you warm...silly boy.

I love this pointy hat...
Pepper and Caitlin
catching snow flakes on her nose!

this was Will's 'can we go in now' face...
Caitlin was SO proud that she could balance
this snow ball on her head. Funny girl!
C-Bug and Mommy
Must be the Nordic blood... because i could not get Caitlin to come inside out of the snow, even though her fingers were about to fall off... So i told her she could bring the snow inside and put it in a bowl. THIS was cool, she thought. she sat down at the table and said ... "Spoon Please!" and sat and ate ALL of her snow.
That reminds me, when I was little (13 ish), my friend Erin and I made a fun treat out of fresh clean snow from one of the blizzards that canceled school for almost a week!! We played Donkey Kong for 4 days straight with our other buddies, Chrissy and Courtney... good times!
Here's the recipe in case you get snowed in and have run out of your other food... or you just want to try it. Kids LOVE IT!
PS. When collecting your snow...beware of yellow snow. Do not eat, it's NOT lemon flavored!
Also, i don't think you need to use the whole can of milk... save some for later.
"Yummy Snow"
